let’s see, an inconstant sop who would probably have had a new girlfriend in a week if julz had lived or a self-absorbed schizoid with daddy issues. I pick Benedick. If I must be some man’s vassal, at least let’s have some interesting conversation.I think they both have their merits, but it really depends on the type of person you are. I would actually choose Hamlet. Every little thing would be interesting. Also, before he went the crazy, Ophelia said he was a pretty great guyA girl wants Romeo not Hamlet (via fuckyeahamazing)
Interesting idea.
Do you Agree? Just out of those two choices. Which would you choose?
So this is interesting. I think a good question to ask is if you are taking the ‘personas’ of either Juliet or Ophelia, OR you are inserting yourself in’t. (LOL) Because the relationships we atune and imbue upon Hamlet and Romeo are specifically set up through these ‘personas’.
I would argue that while the picture portrays a true statement, a girl could never attain Romeo… Romeo is Romeo because of his want and constant struggle to get Juliet and his ability to die for her. If you are with Romeo, one can safely say that this is not the same Romeo. He is still “Romeo” in essence, but you cannot say that he is the intended Romeo concieved by the girl ‘wanting’ him. One can argue that Hamlet can be “Ophelia’s Hamlet” without Ophelia. Their relationship can isolate and thus “Ophelia’s Hamlet” can viably be attained by someone who is not Ophelia. However, from THERE it becomes a question of whether or not you want to deal with their personal problems…
Either way… You end up with a dead guy…
If in that little bubble and forced to choose, I would pick Hamlet. If given the ultimate choice for all of Shakepeare’s...
